American Empire: The colony of Bolivia

Bolivian miners fought to the death the week of October 6, 2006 over access to that nation’s tin mines. These tin mines have been Bolivia’s single most important resource in the last 100 years. Therefore the nation’s economy has ebbed and flowed with the world price of tin. The miners are obviously fighting for the chance to stay alive with what little income they can get.
